Kennon Williams is the principal of Kennon Williams Landscape Studio (KWLS), a Landscape Architecture firm located in Charlottesville, Virginia. He has worked in the field of landscape architecture since 1996 with a particular focus on the integration of site design, aesthetics, and environmental responsibility and has lectured widely and served on state and national panels related to these topics.

Prior to starting his own firm, he worked at several firms noted for their commitment to design excellence and environmental responsibility including Wenk Associates, Biohabitats, and 12 years at Nelson Byrd Woltz (NBW) where he was a Senior Designer and Project Manager. He has led a wide range of award-winning landscape projects in this country and abroad that have integrated urban design, infrastructure, and sustainable principles. He has extensive experience in urban and community-scale design and has participated in design charrettes and planning in diverse locales such as Washington D.C., Portland, Oregon, Florida Panhandle, Amsterdam, and Moscow.

He has experience in leading successful projects through all stages of design, from the master plan phase through to construction administration. Some of these projects are in historic areas and have been recognized for innovative combinations of context sensitive design and environmental stewardship such as The Dell at the University of Virginia and the Riverfront Park in Lynchburg, Virginia.

In addition to running KWLS, Kennon also teaches Urban Design at the University of Virginia School of Architecture and is a frequent participant in class reviews in the Landscape and Planning Departments.
